On Wednesday, March 2nd around 3:30pm the below suspect walked on the porch of a residence in the 1600 block of Cantrill Drive. The suspect simply picked up a package that had been delivered by Amazon and walked off of the property therefore stealing an item that was delivered to the resident of that address.
On Sunday, March 20th two suspects walked in front of a residence on the 3000 block of Laredo Drive. The suspects set a fire to a Pride flag the owner had installed on the front of his residence. One of the suspects filmed the criminal act with his phone before they both walked way. This has been classified as a hate crime.
On Wednesday, March 2nd at approximately 1430 hours the below subject entered a retail store in the 3000 block of Richmond Road. The subject reached into a shopping cart and unlawfully took a purse belonging to one of the patrons in the store. The purse and contents inside had a value over $1,000.
At approximately 4:00pm on February 5th a subject entered a jewelry store located at Tates Creek Centre, 4101 Tates Creek Drive. The individual spent several minutes looking at multiple high value diamonds with an employee. It wasn’t until after the individual left that the employee realized a diamond was missing from one of the sleeves. After surveillance video was reviewed it was determined that the suspect did conceal one of the diamonds in his palm just before leaving.
At approximately 5:40am on February 14th 2022, a beige truck pulled adjacent to a trailer on the property of a business located in the 1900 block of Liberty Road. The truck then backup up to the trailer and connected it just before the vehicle drove away with the trailer in two. The value of the trailer was several thousand dollars.
At approximately 1:50pm on December 27th an individual unlawfully entered a business in the 2600 block of Palumbo Drive. The suspect then took numerous personal items from various employees’ workspaces and subsequently exited the building.
At approximately 2:10pm on January 3rd, 2022 an individual walked into a business in the 1900 block of Pavilion Way. The suspect then removed merchandise from the shelves throughout the store and placed them in bags she was carrying. The suspect then exited the store without paying for the items as multiple alarms went off. The total value of the items taken was several thousand dollars.
At approximately 7:45 p.m., Tuesday, December 28, 2021, Lexington Fire crews responded to the At Home store located at 1996 Pavilion Way in Hamburg following a report of smoke in the structure. Upon arrival, fire crews found visible smoke and flames in the store and upgraded the incident to a working structure fire. The store’s sprinkler system activated and contained the fire to the area of origin. The commercial business sustained heavy fire, smoke, and water damage. Fire Investigators conducted an origin and cause investigation and determined the fire was intentionally set.
Officers responded to the 1000-block of Newtown Pike around 1:30 a.m. Sunday, August, 16 for a report of a large disorder with shots fired. Upon arrival officers located the 18-year-old victim deceased. The Fayette County Coroner’s office has identified the victim as Mykel Waide of Lexington.
Three additional victims were transported to a local hospital for non-life threatening gunshot wounds.
On Thursday, December 30th around 4:00pm two individuals, a male and female black, entered a jewelry store at the Fayette Mall. The male suspect grabbed several bags of jewelry that were left on the jewelry counter and concealed them in his pockets. He and the female ultimately exited the store without paying for the items.
On Saturday, November 20th around 6:30 pm the Lexington Police were contacted reference a vehicle theft. The victim stated she arrived at a restaurant located in the 100 block of West Vine Street just before 6:00pm. She said a valet service parked her vehicle and returned the keys to her. When she went out to get her vehicle a short time later it was gone. Video provided by the business revealed her vehicle was stolen.
On Thursday, December 16th at approximately 7:30pm an individual called the Lexington Police Department to report a theft from her vehicle. The victim had been parked in the parking lot in the 3000 block of Tates Creek Road where she said a suspect broke into her vehicle and stole her purse and credit cards. The credit cards were unlawfully used at several other businesses around town by the individuals below.
On Thursday, October 28th, 2021, at approximately 8:50 p.m., officers responded to the area of Price Road and Fairdale Drive in reference to an injury accident. On arrival, officers located a black Chevrolet Impala on its side with two occupants trapped. A 19-year-old female victim had a reported non-life threatening gunshot wound and was transported by the Lexington Fire Department to a local hospital. A 17-year-old male victim, Sergio Villarados, identified by the Fayette County Coroner’s Office, was also located in the vehicle and pronounced deceased. After further examination of the male victim a gunshot wound was located.
Shortly after 4:00 p.m. Saturday, January 23, police were dispatched to a call of shots fired in the 700 block of N. Upper Street. When officers arrived, a man with life-threatening injuries was located inside a vehicle.
On Friday, January 29, the 18-year-old male victim, Dominico Cloyd, was pronounced deceased by the Fayette County Coroner’s office.
Shortly after 6 p.m. Saturday, May 8, 2021, officers responded to the 700-block of Florence Avenue for a report of shots fired. Upon arrival, officers located three individuals suffering from gunshot wounds; a 67-year-old male victim suffered a non-life-threatening injury, a 27-year-old male victim suffered serious injuries, and a 17-year-old victim suffered life-threatening injuries.
All reported injuries are based on initial contact with officers.
The 17-year-old victim was transported to a local hospital where he was pronounced deceased. The Fayette County Coroner’s Office has identified the victim as Mar’quevion Leach.
On Tuesday, June 8, 2021, around 11:35 p.m., Lexington Police responded to the 200 block of Hedgewood Court for a report of a subject shot. Upon arrival, officers located a 28-year-old victim in the driver’s seat of a passenger car deceased from gunshot wounds. The victim was identified by the Fayette County Coroner’s Office as Shon Davis.
On Sunday, July 4, 2021, at approximately 1:18 hours, officers responded to the 2500-block of Danielle Lane regarding an individual possibly having a medical emergency. Upon arrival, officers located the 26-year-old female, Tyler M. Sandusky, identified by the Fayette County Coroner’s Office, deceased from a gunshot wound. The victim was located near a Toyota Camry.
After further investigation, officers located a second victim, a 27-year-old male, Shaquille L. Newby, identified by the Fayette County Coroner’s Office, in the front passenger seat of the Toyota Camry. The victim was also suffering from a gunshot wound and pronounced deceased at the scene.
In the early morning hours of Sunday, November 29, at approximately 2:12am, officers responded to the 100 block of Payne Street regarding subjects down. When officers arrived they located a 34 year-old victim and a 22 year-old victim with critical injuries. Officers also began CPR on a third victim but she was pronounced deceased by the Fayette County Coroner’s Office. The deceased victim was later identified as 20 year-old Madilyn Grisham.
Shortly after 2 a.m. Thursday, March 4, officers responded to a home in the 900-block of De Porres for a reported shooting. The victim, a 28-year-old man, was struck by shots fired from outside the home. The victim was transported to the hospital where he was pronounced deceased. The Fayette County Coroner’s Office has identified the victim as Jesse M. Averitt.
A second man who was inside the home at the time of the shooting was not hurt.
A witness reported seeing a vehicle leave the area at a high rate of speed immediately after the shooting. Police do not have any suspect description at this time.
