ATM Criminal Mischief 1st
April 19, 2023

On 4//19/23, Lexington Police responded to 280 Meijer Way, reference criminal mischief. Upon arrival they observed damage to the ATM. Security footage from the scene shows a black F250 with what appears to be three male suspects drive up to the machine and hook a chain to the truck and the machine. The truck then drives forward in an attempt to gain entry into the machine. The F250 was located a short distance away and appears to have been stolen and then abandoned. There have been four ATM breaches in Lexington this year. All occurred in April, three occurred in 48 hours.

Subway Robbery
April 17, 2023

On 3/29/2023, at approximately 1112, Lexington Police responded to Subway located at 3120 Pimlico Parkway in reference to a robbery. The victim advised the suspect entered the store and ordered a sandwich. As the victim was making the sandwich he demanded the money from the register. The victim didn’t observe a weapon, but advised the suspect implied he had one. He is described as a male black of average build and height and possibly in his 30’s.

Game Exchange Robbery
April 10, 2023

On 3/29/2023, Lexington Police responded to Game Exchange located at 150 W. Tiverton Way in reference to a robbery. The victim advised the suspect entered the store within minutes of her unlocking the door for the day. He approached the register and advised the victim to empty the register “or else”. The victim, fearing she would be harmed gave the suspect the tray from the register which contained $500. The suspect then exited the store and fled the area on foot. He is described as a male black approximately 6 feet tall with an average build.

Wing Zone Robbery
March 28, 2023

STATUS: OPEN

On Friday March 10th, 2023 at 1645 hours East Sector Officers were dispatched to the Wing Zone located on Eureka Springs Drive in reference to a robbery. Upon Officers arrival they made contact with the owner of the business, who stated he was walking into the business while holding two bags of change totaling approximately $2000. A black SUV pulled up next to the victim when the suspect exited the vehicle, taking the money from the victim. The victim tried to enter the suspect vehicle to retrieve the money but was assaulted, receiving minor injury to his face. The suspect vehicle fled in an unknown direction. The vehicle, identified as a Jeep Grand Cherokee was determined to be stolen.

Ash Street Assault
March 06, 2023

STATUS: OPEN

At 8:47 p.m., on Sunday, February 19, 2023, officers were dispatched to the 400 block of Ash Street, reference a shooting. Upon arrival they located two juvenile victims. One suffering from a graze wound, the other from gunshot wounds. The victim suffering from gunshot wounds was transported to the University of Kentucky Hospital.

Walgreen's Robbery
February 07, 2023

STATUS: ARRESTED

At 04:59 p.m., on Sunday, January 29, 2023, officers were dispatched to the Walgreens on Richmond Road, reference a robbery. The suspect, described as a white male, approximately 5’6 or 5’7 proceeded to the back of the store, were he passed a note to the pharmacy technician demanding narcotics. After passing the note, the suspect raised his sweatshirt revealing a black firearm. The suspect exited the store with Xanax, valued at approximately $200.

Robbery 1st Degree
February 06, 2023

On January 30, 2023, at 12:20 p.m., officers were dispatched to the 800 block of Spring Meadows Drive for a mail carrier robbed at gunpoint. Officers learned that the suspect appeared behind the mail carrier brandishing a firearm and demanded that the mail carrier give them their keys. The mail carrier complied, and the suspect fled the scene. The bag was later recovered.

Wanton Endangerment 1st
February 01, 2023

At 4:48 a.m., on Sunday, January 22, 2023, officers were dispatched to the 2700 block of Polo Club Boulevard for two male individuals breaking into vehicles. When an officer arrived, they observed an occupied vehicle and got out of their cruiser. The officer attempted to make contact with the vehicle and gave a verbal command to the driver. The driver accelerated in the direction of the officer who responded by discharging their firearm. The suspect fled in the vehicle towards Polo Club Boulevard and has not been located at this time. Officers are still attempting to locate the vehicle, described as a gold or silver 2010-2015 Hyundai Elantra.

Criminal Mischief 1st
January 24, 2023

STATUS: OPEN

On November 25, 2022, the suspects approached the victims leaving the Bar Complex on E. Main Street, and began yelling derogatory comments at the victims. The victims attempted to enter their vehicle to leave, but the suspects tried to remove the victims from the car and spit in one of the victims face. They then caused approximately $1000 worth of damages to the victim's vehicle by breaking the windshield. Due to the nature of the comments, it is being investigated as a hate crime.

Credit Card Theft
January 20, 2023

On 11-17-2022 the victim reported to the Lexington Police her wallet was stolen from her vehicle while parked at the Waterstone Apartment Complex on Polo Club Blvd. Six credit cards were stolen and used for over $20,000. The suspects went on a shopping spree to multiple supermarkets, gas and clothing stores in Lexington. The suspects purchased multiple prepaid debit cards, clothing and electronics.

Smart Point Criminal Mischief
January 16, 2023

On 12/22/2022 at approximately 0120 the Lexington Police Department was dispatched to 1120 Industry Road(Smart Point) reference an attempted burglary. An employee in a back room heard a loud bang as he entered the front of the store he observed a subject smash the window from outside of the store with a hammer. As the employee ran towards the window three suspects fled towards a dark colored Nissan pickup truck. The estimated damage to the window is $6000 to repair.

Bradley Court Homicide
January 03, 2023

On Friday, December 30 at approximately 1920, officers were dispatched to a report of an assault with a weapon in the 400 block of Bradley Court.  When officers arrived they located a victim partially inside a vehicle suffering from a gunshot wound who was pronounced deceased at the scene. A second victim was located suffering from a serious, but non-life threatening gunshot wound. A third victim approached officers and advised he suffered a graze wound. The Fayette County Coroner identified the deceased as Tyron Shaw.

Magic Vapor Shop Robbery
December 26, 2022

The Lexington Police Department is investigating a robbery that occurred on 08/21/2022 at the Magic Vapor Shop on Richmond Road. Four male’s subjects entered the store wearing masks and proceeded to fill backpacks with various merchandise. The store employee advised one of the subjects slapped his phone out of his hand and struck him in the face before all fled the store.

Fayette Mall Theft
December 21, 2022

On 11/16/2022, The Lexington Police Department responded to a theft at Fayette Mall. The suspect unlawfully entered the mall via an employee service corridor prior to the mall being opened. He is then observed on camera removing the cash drawer as well as other items from a kiosk. He then leaves the scene in what appears to be a silver/grey Chrysler 300 with front end damage.

Kay Jewelers Theft

UPDATE

The suspect has been identified, but investigators are still asking for information regarding his location. 

 

On 11/29/2022, the Lexington Police Department responded to a theft at Kay Jewelers in Fayette Mall. The suspect used a jacket to conceal two  spinner display cases of jewelry valued over $10,000 and exited the store, ultimately leaving the mal with the jewelry concealed in a backpack.

Nandino Commercial building Theft
October 30, 2022

The Lexington Police Department is investigating Criminal Mischief 1st as well as a felony theft at a commercial building. The suspect punctured the gas tank of a vehicle causing $2,200 worth of damages and then unlawfully removed $2,425 worth of tools that where being used to renovate the building.
